Alcohol Sanction is an online program designed to be an education and awareness program to change your knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to alcohol and impaired driving. You will hear from 11 speakers who share the ripple effect of someone's choice to drive impaired. Its online format allows you to engage in the program at a time and place that allows you to fully absorb the impactful messaging on the stories.
While you may not have gotten in trouble for alcohol impaired driving, the likelihood exists that you or someone you know will eventually be faced with the choice to drive impaired. The ultimate goal of Alcohol Sanction is to help you establish safe practices now so that when you leave campus, you can maintain them. Data shows us that college-aged, young adults are drinking, they are engaging in impaired driving, and they are in the age group responsible for the most alcohol-related traffic fatalities.
Once you’ve finished registering, you will have five days to complete the program. You can expect to complete the program in about 4 hours and will have the ability to sign in and out as frequently as you need. You access Alcohol Sanction on any internet-enabled device (laptop, cell phone, tablet, etc.). During the registration process, if there are other school staff members who need to be notified when you’ve completed the program - you have the option to provide their email addresses.
You’ll be asked to write a letter to yourself outlining your intentions moving forward. More detailed instructions are provided at the end of the program. Alcohol Sanction will send you a hard copy of your letter in six months at the mailing address you provide during registration. If you would rather receive an electronic copy, that option will be provided to you when you write the letter (look for the box below the space provided for you to type the letter). We share these letters and feedback with schools - but it is done completely anonymously.
Alcohol Sanction costs $100. You will need to make a payment in order to complete the registration process. You can make a payment with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal. It is important that you complete the program within the 5 days allotted to you after registration, or you may have to pay for an additional registration.
